Cole Fannin

Mr. Fannin began his mortgage lending career in early 2021 with Redmond Lending Group.  He closed $14MM in new business from May 2021-Dec 2021 and helped grow the brokerage across the West Georgia Region.  He left Redmond Lending Group to join Goldwater Bank as a Regional Mortgage Lender in July of 2022 in order to offer more product variety and to grow his knowledge in the mortgage industry.  Due to unforeseen market conditions, he made the switch back to Redmond Lending Group in order to have more control over the lending cycle where he’s able to shop across multiple wholesale partners in order to obtain the most competitive pricing and products in the market.

Prior to his lending career, Mr. Fannin served as a Business Consultant for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center at the University of West Georgia.  During his five-year tenure with the SBDC, Mr. Fannin consulted with 500+ business owners, including existing businesses, startups, and other aspiring entrepreneurs.  Mr. Fannin provided one-on-one consulting services as an initiative between the SBDC and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  He advised business owners in the for-profit sector and assisted with variables related to business planning, strategic planning, financial analysis, sales & marketing, business acquisition, human resources and other variables related to growing a healthy and profitable business.  During his time with SBDC, Mr. Fannin helped to start 100+ new businesses and assisted with originating over $50 million in commercial, SBA, and other small business loans.

Prior to working with SBDC, Mr. Fannin spent most of his career in Business Development in retail and the steel industry.

When asked why he chose to pursue a career as a mortgage lender, Mr. Fannin said, “there is a lack of knowledge in lending.  For some, the lending process can be overwhelming and confusing.  There are too many lenders who employee predatory lending tactics.  These tactics are unfair to borrowers and my goal is to educate and consult borrowers so that they can develop knowledge and better equip themselves as they embark upon their next home purchase.  To put it simply, my goal is not quantity of loans.  Rather, serving, educating borrowers, and building trust in the process is the most important thing a lender can do.”

Mr. Fannin currently resides in Carrollton, GA with his wife and three children.  Outside of the normal day to day, you can find him on the baseball and softball fields coaching his kids.  In addition, he serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Carrollton and is active with Rotary and other community groups.
